i never thought i would be interested to watch badminton until i worked for the AVIVA Open Singapore 2007 event.. the difference between watching badminton and other sports like soccer or basketball, is that it keeps u at the edge of your seat at every second.. its really amazing how they can return all the forehand/backhand/serve/smash/dropshots so easily and at such ridiculous speed.. its almost like a mini-olympic with the world's top ranking players and fantastic audience.. now i know why so many ppl are willing to buy tickets to watch the matches..

the player who stand out most is boonsak ponsana from thailand.. he is like the underdog from nowhere.. stunning everyone when he beat china world number 1 lin dan in quarterfinals.. then moving on to trash ronald susilo who was really disappointing in the semis.. and finally winning the champion when he beat china world number 6 chen yu.. opponents are all left speechless after the game.. so u can imagine how good he is.. and most importantly he is still young at 25.. and no harm that he is quite good looking and a law student haha.. fellow ushers all wan to watch his match.. i got the privilege to stand 4m away from him when he was doing his cooldown stretches to prevent ppl from disturbing him.. haha as if he is some superstar :p be sure to look out for him in years to come!!

finally had time to think and list 6 things weird things about myself after being tagged by mavis.. here goes:

1. when i sleep, i can only fall asleep if i face outwards, meaning my back is facing the wall.. if i face the wall i will feel insecure and start imaginating something behind me *cough*.. so what happens if my bed is in the middle of the room? i really duno cos all along my bed is always by the wall haha.. thus im pretty used to sleeping on my right side..

2. continuing with my fav habit of sleeping, i tend to "ren chuang".. meaning i can only sleep soundly on my own bed.. remember during chalets, im usually the ony one who doesnt sleep, i just lie on the bed and listen to ppl snoring and taking pics of ppl sleeping, but its not good to take pic when ppl are sleeping, might see something else *cough* however the above two points mentioned will not happen if you manage to make me SUPER tired.. i will sleep like a pig..

3. i absolutely hate button mushroom.. i know many ppl will bomb and object with me.. but blah i stil hate them no matter what.. i hate their sight, their smell and definitely their taste.. yucks thinking of it makes me wanna puke haha.. but then i like the normal ones (the black "xiang gu").. and the thing is juan is totally opposite of me, she likes button mushroom but dislikes xiang gu.. see its normal for ppl to dislike certain things.. on the other hand brinjal is really nice duno why so many ppl dont dare to try haha :p

4. i like to eat the "soggy" macdonalds french fries.. when ppl usually pick the hot and crispy ones, i rather eat the soft ones.. which is good since nobody fights with me haha

5. i tend to eat things from the outer layer to the inner layer.. this is funny for example when i eat ferrero rocher, i will eat the outer nuts+choc then the biscuit then the choc then the nut hahaha!! ok i think not many ppl will do the same thing as me.. my bro will just pop the whole thing in his mouth *shake head* duno how to appreciate haha.. same thing for kitkat.. i try to chew off the outer choc then the biscuit layer by layer haha..

6. i have a habit of playing with the thread on buttons.. especially the collar ones.. you know the thread that pops out below the button after sewing is finished.. not just on buttons, they can be found on pillows or anything thats sewn as well.. it just feels good to have the thread go into your skin or fingernails haha ok im weird.. but this habit is not so serious now.. i remember sec sch days when my collar button thread keeps coming off haha..

omg i think you guys will really think im weird after all this.. but i assure you im not that weird haha.. and i wont tag anyone.. but for a bonus i shall post a few more weird things about myself.. once again pls keep in mind that im not weird, maybe just a bit :P

7. i have a mole in between my right thumb and index finger.. and whats weird is that it is an alphabet H, H for hui lin.. i swear its not a tatoo..

8. i think the use of a hp is just to call/msg ppl and something to help me act busy haha.. when im at home, i can actually not switch on my hp for the whole day.. which is bad cos if its something urgent im dead.. and when im doing something/super lazy, i will reply sms later, much later cos i will forget all about it.. trying to get rid of this habit =__=

9. i am really good at wasting time.. i can slack whole day in front of my pc just surfing randomly.. and yes this happens quite regularly.. just like now..

10. as you might have guessd im a little scaredy-cat haha.. but i still like to watch horror shows.. i remember watching "shutter" early in the morning with audrey so that we wont be so scared after the movie.. end up the cinema only got less than 10 ppl which makes it even scarier.. but at least i wont waste my money and cover my eyes.. i will peek through my fingers :D

i happened to come across a fren's blog.. lets call her "A".. i got to know A from my past job but din really keep in contact anymore.. i noticed her sad msn nicks and after reading her blog i know why.. her mum passed away in an accident few weeks ago.. i did some googling and i vaguely remember watching the news on tv.. the tour bus was on its way to Cameron Highlands when it collided with a container lorry.. one singaporean died while others were injured.. who would have guessed the woman will be related to someone i know.. sigh its quite shocking and sad to know such things happening..

im not really good at consoling ppl so i din give A a call or leave a msg after i read the news.. plus it might be kinda weird since we havent keep in contact.. i duno whose fault was it but ppl might feel so unfair for A's mum.. but yah we just have to accept that things happen and cant be undone.. looking from the other point of view.. at least the rest of the ppl and her frens on board are alright.. i dont think A will read this but my deepest condolences for A and her family.. peeps remember to always drive safely and once again cherish the people around u!!

WAAA fyp is over.. cant help thinking is it really over?? it seems like yesterday when we were still in the LT for the fyp briefing talk.. and in a blink of the eye its over!! yeaa just like how "few" days ago we were all still freshies running around the campus for engin orientation with my sunburnt and peeling forehead @_@.. time really flies man..

talking about my CA4.. duno its for the good or bad.. my examiner probably only listened to 5% of my presentation.. 95% of the time his head is down either flipping through my thesis or technical paper or slide handout.. at first i tried my best to keep eye contact but give up in the end, he cant be bothered to look at me anyway haha.. even when i use the mouse arrow to explain some diagrams, he also never look up.. so i just rattle on and on from my script.. only asked a few qns.. mostly not related to my project at all haha..

definitely learned a lot of things which i will probably forget soon.. and i cant wait to uninstall the stupid problematic software which i use for this project.. i dont want to touch it ever again.. im now left with *drum roll* lots of webcasts and notes to catch up!! with less than 2wks till first paper *panic faint die* work hard dear frens, hopefully for our last and final exams in nus!!

Jolin Dancing Diva Singapore Concert 7 April 2007

jolin is indeed a dancing diva.. and JUST a dancing diva.. yah get what i mean? on her singing.. hmm can only say she went pretty off-key for quite a number of slow songs.. at least the fast songs were a bit better.. or maybe everyone is too focused on her dancing to notice anything.. seriously her fast songs doesnt require that much technique as in emotions, hold key, etc hehe

the opening was pretty impressive with her split on the gymnastic rings.. but yuwei say looks like circus performance.. i got no comments when jolin ask "wo you mei you bian piao liang ah?" a couple of us were busy gossiping whether she did anything to her face and body haha.. hmm she couldnt do the cartwheels well, pam say she can do better haha.. the sound system was blasting like crazy and the most irritating of all is the super ultra strong spotlights.. imagine 10+ of them hitting right in your face.. its like bright until u cannot see anything on the stage..

i read in papers that fans were very high.. really? to me it seems like it was jolin who asked everyone to stand up haha.. the shout for encore was erm pretty bad.. normally they will dim the lights and the drumer will hit some beat and the audience will shout encore!! encore!! but jolin just came up after about 2mins..

overall ok ba wasnt really that bad.. but it gave me the impression that she wants to end it quickly.. maybe my expectations were too high.. i stil enjoyed her wu niang perf.. really like the costume and dance..

remember the time when we go crazy over jap dramas like beach boys, overtime, long vacation, tokyo love story, waterboys, hero, forbidden love, GTO, beautiful life.. its like years ago what they call the "ha ri" craze which is now replaced by the "han liu feng".. although till now i still duno how come jap dramas just slowly die away.. personally i feel jap dramas are still great in their own way..

channel U started airing "Engine" and made me realise how much i miss jap dramas.. the last jap drama they show is i think "Pride" or "Good Luck"? which all coincidently stars takuya kimura aka mu chun.. haha he's a natural in acting and no harm that he's good-looking as well :p great storyline, real life, touching and lots of cute little kids at the foster home.. my nose cant help feeling "sour" after every episode when new lessons are learnt.. give it a try if u r free on fri nights :)

ive been taking the same lift with this black american guy at my block for two consecutive afternoons.. both at different timings.. so guess who i met at the lift today? yes AGAIN.. i was coming down the stairs and when i turned and saw the familiar back of someone waiting for the lift.. in my mind i was thinking oh sh*t! haha.. not that i dont wan to see him.. just too qiao quite paiseh.. being the friendly neighbour i gave a polite smile and got in the lift together..

then he started saying how come we always take the same lift.. i replied yah thinking in my head why too haha.. he kept asking like whether im schooling, which school, etc.. luckily the lift only from 5th to 1st floor.. haha im very bad he probably just wan to chat a bit but i didnt feel like saying much.. okie next time WHEN i meet him i shall start a conversation with him :p

went amk central to pass shaowei the lab report he needed.. win already he havent been to sch for more than a week.. so had to meet him after his interview.. end up he go all the way to that ulu place n the interviewer say he didnt take modules related to stuff that they require hahaha..

collected my contact lens.. almost home when it started raining heavily.. so i waited under this block and started to look around.. saw this father on a bicycle with his daughter on the back seat.. probably on the way home after nursery class.. the little girl was carrying this super mini cute umbrella.. they stopped at the traffic light and rain was getting even heavier.. the little girl then raised up her hand trying to shelter her daddy and herself with her tiny umbrella.. the daddy turned around and pulled her hand down asking her to just shelter herself.. and the daddy continue to brave the rain to send her little princess home.. hahaha ok i guess all fathers will do this and i made him sound very heroic.. its just that when u really see it with your own eyes.. gosh it made me feel warm inside and wanna say out "awww what a good daddy!!" remember to cherish all your mummy and daddy and all your loved ones :)

dragged myself to school early in the morning just for a pencil case zzz.. luckily its still there.. went to get mac breakfast since im already in school.. queued for about 2minutes before realising jas is in front of me.. haha so ended up eating and chatting together.. she went off for lessons while i finish up.. when i stood up and clear our trays everyone like start to look at me.. err very weird ma? not that i want to act considerate or what but i always do that unless im in a hurry..

hopped on 151 to head home.. and its not a normal but a special 151 haha.. maybe im sua ku or what but ive never been on this type of bus.. interior walls of the bus is like red velvet material.. and seats are like one whole row of white sofa and a few circular seats.. feels like in a very posh and chio lounge.. took out my lousy hp and started taking pics..

9-18th march disney on ice presents disney/pixar's finding nemo!!
been the busiest week ever.. worked 12 out of 16 shows due to not enough manpower.. not that im complaining.. i like working there just that its really tiring.. its a great show.. with colourful display of costumes, props, lighting and music effects and of cos the fantastic skating.. very suitable for family entertainment.. envy all those kids.. how come i never get to enjoy all these stuff when im young.. pics n more pics credits to me and ladysue77 not in any order..

finally end 4 days work at IT fair.. shag.. whole body so tired.. been a long time since i stand for so long.. legs muscle all trained up again le.. haha.. n i think im gonna have phobia of crowds soon.. no more job so back to slacking.. more korean dramas yeah.. after 'my name is kim sam soon' the newest one is 'Goong'.. omg so nice.. the whole set so beautiful n even the clothes they wear.. i wan haha.. watch it on youtube!! will be airing on channel U too but duno when.. the OST is so nice.. makes me feel like learning korean.. hehe..

met up with jas for the gala premiere of Poseidon at lido in the evening.. been awhile since i win tics from 933 cos i hardly listen to radio this sem.. collected our tics from andy n a free gift which is an A4 size card of pics from poseidon.. erm a bit bo liao n its too big cant fit into my bag >_< anyway andy is a staff from 933 n he looks like david gan haha.. i rather get the notebook from the other booth which is also handing out tics.. i think is from channel U one.. saw the contest on tv.. the movie was ok.. quite a lot of exciting parts.. while titanic seems to focus more on the love story part poseidon shows this group of ppl struggling to find a way out in order to survive.. if u like those disaster type of movie then u will like poseidon.. oh n in the preview saw that there will be a lot of super hero movies coming out.. x-men 3.. superman.. n i think spiderman soon too

yea.. this sem is almost over.. classes over.. projects over.. EE2001 is over finally after countless overnights, skipped meals, missed fav tv shows.. Noah's Ark nv let us down :) lots of thx to my team mates n frens who helped us along the way.. really hope we can ace it! all ECE students have no more to worry le.. after this 2001 i think we can conquer anything.. muahaha.. the process is quite fun actually.. but i wouldnt wan to do it again =p

cant believe i've won fish concert tics!! yes AGAIN.. i tink i have to admit im so lucky.. haha.. ok actually is my didi.. anyway 933 changed e way to win tics to sms-ing.. so i thot damnit.. it would be easier if its by calling.. cos almost everyone can sms mah so i'll have little chance.. but i believe try hard n u will get it.. hehe.. on tue n wed we r supposed to sms in e reason why dey shd gif u e tics.. n i tink mine is not creative enough.. so today i thot of this really interesting ans.. very confidence can get their attention.. but den dey changed e qn!! qi si wo.. used both didi's n my hp agn.. send both ans in han yu pin yin.. my stupid samsung hp cant type chi.. but didi de can.. so type another in chi character agn n send.. n just as i put down e hp a msg comes in.. my heart stop.. since my didi is slping i help him see his msg.. hehe.. praying hard.. n BINGO!! hohoho.. congrats blah blah blah.. didi brings me luck.. =) but this time dey gave out a lot of tics.. 6 pairs per day.. 5 days = 30 pairs = 60 ppl.. tml is e last day.. shall use my bro's hp.. hehe..

in order not make it a wasted trip.. quickly contacted annie to confirm tt we can go her hse.. she told me sure but she will be having reunion dinner with her family.. oh no dun wanna disturb her family.. but annie say its really ok.. n its e chance for us to see her cute little nephews b4 dey go over to msia for cny.. so met up with lc agn n went over to annie's hse.. only told him abt e reunion dinner when we were on e way.. i tink he wanna beat me up.. but we were reaching liao n his hands r on e steering wheel.. =p

we were welcomed by annie's spoilt doorbell n e smell of food.. got ourselves seated n annie showed us dvds her fren got for her fm china.. bloody cheap.. n i mean CHEAP.. haha.. decided to watch national tresaure while waiting for lena.. quite an interesting movie.. e ideas nicholas cage came up with to steal e scroll.. so amazing.. n e bad guys so ben dan.. lc keep tricking me to tink tt dere is no treasure in e end.. n it turns out to be exactly e opposite.. there were loads of dem enuf to fill a field..
halfway thru cute little yangyang woke up fm his nap.. n e moment he walks out he calls out "ah gong" aka lc.. new haircut ne.. pretty short with a few long strands of hair behind.. looks like a xiao ah beng.. hehe..

continue on with harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban while annie had her dinner.. yixuan commented tt e show is very scary.. i guess its due to e dementors..

e lecturer is quite interesting n gave us an intro..
its a geography module n he is trying to tell us tt geographers look at e world fm a spatial perspective..
something like viewing e world fm another view..
n by e end of e course we will b able to acquire a pair of magic eyes.. n he showed us dis pic..

tt was e very 1st time i tried calling into 933..
i rem it was during upper sec n i went with lian..
cos i noe she likes xu ru yun a lot..
n tt time i still sua gu duno how to go indoor stadium..
but now i noe le.. need to walk v far thou.. haha..
we got e best seats.. 1st row fm e stage..
pretty close up n got a chance to shake their hands whn dey came down..

n its fun listening to dem tok.. cos dey r very 'real'..

went for some volunteer work today with xy..
somewhere at a ulu place in cck.. a logistic base..
reached dere ard 3pm n got down to work..
1st task was to do some repacking..
e boxes of clothes r actually packed already..
but seems like dey used different sizes of boxes..
n dis will cos dem to collapse during transportation..
so need to take out everyting n pack agn..
seems like a waste of boxes n tape n time..
but its for transportation purpose..
nxt got to sort out e food.. halal n non-halal..
look at all dose food ppl donate..
fm biscuits to milk powder to milo to can food..
and dere's even chicken essence..
worst r dose tt r oredi opened n used b4..
n we have to look at e expiry date..
does tt expire within 6mths have to b taken out..
personally i feel tt its ok.. dey dun haf food le..
where got time to bother whether its expired.. =p
feels like its back2e time whn im working at minimart..
anyway we stopped for dinner.. dinner is provided..
n dey opened some of e gg-to-be-expired cans..
had a full dinner.. continue packing food..

finally watched both e shutter n e incredibles le..
been too busy during the exam period to watch dem..
caught an early show of e shutter wif audrey on mon..
bcuz she's got a long meeting in e aftn..

came hm to realise my dad is in hospital..
worried.. worried.. worried..
dis morn at work he suddenly felt weak n almost fainted..
so came hm n mum took him to amk polyclinic..
whn he was dere e doctor told him his heartbeat is v fast..
too fast le.. very not normal..
n tt he has to go to hospital immediately..
n e ambulance is on its way le..
told my dad to go lie down on e bed..
cuz he scared tt my dad will fall down..
my dad say no need.. not feeling yun yun le..
but e doctor insisted n even get e nurse to help him dere..
mum was so scared..
cuz e doctors r making such a big fuss over my dad..

went blading at east coast today..
only manage to grab jas along..
cuz e others r busy studying..
while me.. slacking n enjoying myself.. haha..
waited at mac for jas..
saw uncle es sissy/gay fren studying dere..
wah.. early in e morn so hardworking le..
went to rent our blades..
$7 for 2hrs.. with socks n knee guard n elbow guard n wrist guard..
muz haf full protection b4 we start..
my 1st time blading.. 2nd or 3rd time for jas..
din noe how to stand up wif our blades on..
so e gd uncle offer to guide us out onto e track..
jas got e hang of it after a few mins..
but me.. nid learn fm scratch.. hehe..
its quite ok walking on e grass..
e lst step onto e track.. wooo.. almost fall.. haha..
but manage to balance myself..
jas told me to start out in small steps..
right leg.. left leg.. gg out in V shape..
den lift n pull in right leg.. lift n pull in left leg..
i keep tiinking tt both my legs will each go sideway n split.. haha..
n whn we reach e humps..
i nid to get to e side.. walk on e grass..
so tt i dun nid to blade over e hump..

i cant even blade properly how to get over humps.. hehe..
had quite a few falls during e 1st hr.. but less den 10..
decided to U turn n start heading back..
i seem to b moving faster on e way back..
great improvement.. so proud of myself..
